What is IDX?
IDX is the definition of Internet Data Exchange, in this case it’s a Data feed which allows visitors to search the lateest Real Estate listings available in the market. All this is possible by pulling data from the various MLS Boards throughout the USA and Canada. Each MLS Board has it’s own rules and protocols that IDX Developers much abide by and legally agree to before having access to the MLS data.
Once the IDX Service is pulling the MLS data real estate listing info into the website the usual steps involve doing a property search to return real estate listing results. The MLS data can then be displayed as a property detail page showing all the relevant information about a property along with the property photos.
Many IDX systems will also allow the visitor to sign up to receive the latest property updates via email and also to save their favorite properties.
